About the Project

OTL undertook the extensive refurbishment of Reene Court, a supported accommodation unit in Newport, Wales. With a contract value of £1.12 million, the project aimed to enhance living conditions for vulnerable residents. Partially funded by NHS Wales, the work was executed under JCT 2016 SBC/Q, showcasing a commitment to exceptional outcomes while prioritizing the well-being of residents.

Scope of Works

  • Comprehensive refurbishment of the facility, spanning second to ground floor

  • Alterations to 22 bedrooms and installation of new wet rooms

  • Upgrades to living areas and creation of a purpose-built catering kitchen

  • Installation of communal restrooms on the ground floor

  • Rewiring and installation of new HVAC systems throughout

  • Proactive engagement with care home staff to minimize disruption

  • Flexible sequencing of works to accommodate residents with dementia

  • Two-week ahead-of-schedule project completion despite unforeseen challenges
